The line-up that headlines session #7 of Es Claustre<\/a><\/strong> is led by Miguel Villar<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 saxophone, Jaume Llombart<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 electric bass, and Joe Smith<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 drums.<\/p>\n

Joe Smith<\/strong><\/span> has united this trio of good friends to interpret some of his new and old compositions. The melodies being expressed by the lyrical tenor saxophonist Miguel Villar<\/strong> and the harmony by famed guitarist Jaume Llombart<\/strong>, heard here presenting his accompaniment on the electric Bass. Combining the different styles of jazz, ethnic and avant-garde music<\/strong>, the trio will take the audience on a voyage of emotions and improvisational explorations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It may be more than ten years since he swapped Barcelona for Berlin<\/strong>, but the American drummer Joe Smith is still remembered in the Catalan capital, not only because he introduced unique methods of composition based on instant music patterns but also because he created the much-missed Asociaci\u00f3n Libre Orkestra in El Raval<\/strong>. This artist, born in Illinois and trained in New York, has collaborated not only with jazz greats such as Guillermo Klein, Gorka Benitez, Chris Lightcap and Jorge Rossy<\/strong>, but also with Bill McHenry<\/strong> and Masa Kamaguchi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
