Desde su nacimiento hace casi dos d\u00e9cadas en <strong>Leeds<\/strong>, UK, <strong>The New Mastersounds<\/strong> han abrazado la etiqueta de \u00abOld School\u00bb. Su sonido enraizado en esos discos y sellos cl\u00e1sicos de soul jazz, boogaloo y funk como Blue Note y Prestige de artistas como Wes Montgomery, Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McGriff y Lou Donaldson. El seu LP,\u2019 The Nashville Session\u2019, lleva esa devoci\u00f3n un paso m\u00e1s all\u00e1 al ser grabado en la misma tradici\u00f3n que muchas de esas joyas del <strong>rare groove<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The New Mastersound, es reconocido mundialmente como una banda clave en la escena del <strong>New Funk<\/strong> tras innumerables conciertos y giras por <strong>Europa, Estados Unidos y Jap\u00f3n<\/strong>. Estos m\u00fasicos convierten las salas en pistas de baile, con un hervidero de la mejor m\u00fasica negra de los 60 y los 70, con su visi\u00f3n actual del <strong>soul, el jazz, el funk y el rock<\/strong> y el tributo que siempre hacen a los grandes de este g\u00e9nero como Jimmy McGriff, Jimmy Smith, o Hendrix. En los noventa The New Mastersounds recuper\u00f3 y reinvent\u00f3 el sonido del aut\u00e9ntico funk, desde Nueva Orleans hasta Nueva York y de los Meters a James Brown, y hoy es una de las bandas favoritas de la escena negra tras haber colaborado, adem\u00e1s, con nombres fundamentales como Lou Donaldson, Quantic, Keb Darge, Kenny Dope o Andy Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Este cuarteto de Leeds, Inglaterra, describe su m\u00fasica as\u00ed: \u201cImaginaos a Grant Green y Lou Donaldson pele\u00e1ndose en una tienda de \u00f3rganos Hammond mientras James Brown les sujeta los abrigos\u201d. As\u00ed es. Y con estos sonidos lleg\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 2000 el primer single de la banda: One Note Brown, popularizado por Keb Darge, legendario DJ de funk y soul. Fue el punto de partida para publicar despu\u00e9s los doce \u00e1lbumes que suma, entre ellos, Nervous (el primero en 2001), Be Yourself, Move On, This Is What We Do, 102%, Ten Years On o el \u00faltimo, en 2011, \u00a0Breaks From The Border.
