Anggie Obin
Anggie Obin is a flautist born in Panama City. She began studying classical flute at age 12 at the Narciso Garay National Conservatory of Music in Panama, but soon after, she immersed herself in jazz through the Danilo Perez Foundation. That same year, the Lyric Opera of Chicago invited Anggie to perform in Chicago, and a year later, the prestigious Berklee College of Music awarded her a full scholarship to study in Boston, USA. After completing her studies in Boston, Anggie moved to New York, where she continued her professional career.
Anggie has participated in major events such as the Panama Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, and Yecla Jazz Festival, and in renowned venues like Smalls Jazz Club, Mezzrow, and Zinc Bar, among many others. She has performed with jazz luminaries such as George Garzone, Rosa Passos, Peter Erskine, Bill McHenry, Randy Weston, Kirk Lightsey, Ruben Blades, and Danilo Perez.
