Drop Collective
«Drop Collective» fusion of Jamaican music and jazz…
Drop Collective is a ten piece band created at the end of 2016 in Barcelona. The great jazz scene of the city brought together musicians that found a common sound between the jazz tradition and the Jamaican rhythms. Since then, they explore new sounds, using the unique wind section with a jazz approach and the effects from reggae music & dub music. Everything merges on the top of a solid rhythm section and is conducted by the voice through lyrics that share messages of love, freedom, and respect.
Drop Collective
Fusió de música jamaicana i jazz. Drop Collective és un projecte de 10 músics iniciat el 2016 a Barcelona. La gran escena jazzística de la ciutat els va portar a coincidir-hi durant els seus estudis superiors, i a descobrir interessos comuns en la búsqueda de sonoritats que incorporessin elements del jazz tradicional i ritmes jamaicans.
La versatilitat del jazz i el groove dels ritmes jamaicans són la combinació que caracteritza la seva música, complementant l’escolta amb un poderós directe que fa ballar de principi a fi.
Per primer cop a Menorca, presentaran temes del seu segon disc “Come Shine”.
