Caamaño & Ameixeiras is one of the great international exponents of the new Galician traditional music. Resignifying roots music and dance with the most contemporary sounds, the duo is expanding their talent beyond the Galician borders. Their intimate and profound treatment of Galician folk tradition is leading Sabela Caamaño and Antía Ameixeiras to stand out on the national and international scene. With an impressive, careful and daring staging, they have already performed extensively, taking their live performances to countries such as Italy, Belgium, France, Portugal, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Austria. In addition, their songs have already accumulated hundreds of thousands of listens on digital platforms, their albums have sold thousands of copies and they have collaborated with artists of the stature of Rodrigo Cuevas.
The Galician group inspired their work in the popular universe, creating an atmosphere where reality, magic and religion converge. In the last few years of their career, their music has moved from these joyful sounds and this collaborative character to a darker and more intimate aspect, achieving a success that led them to win a Martín Códax Music Award in the Folk category, as well as playing in important festivals such as the Interceltique de Lorient, the Festival de Ortigueira, the Festival Tradicionàrius de Barcelona, the Revenidas or the Osa del Mar.
One of the great attractions of the group is their strong commitment to their live performance. With a surprising staging, very elaborate and daring, Caamaño&Ameixeiras is impressing the public in their presentations, proposing a visual and artistic show that reinforces their already powerful live performance.
Caamaño & Ameixeiras comes from presenting in 2024 their latest album, Quitar o aire (2023), with a tour that accumulated more than 60 concerts and that reached countries such as Austria, Portugal, Belgium, France or the Netherlands. After the success of Catro Cousas, their new single with Rodrigo Cuevas, the group faces 2025 maintaining its international character, confirming concerts in Scotland, France and Portugal in these first months of the year. It will be a year that will also bring new music, with great surprises that will make Caamaño&Ameixeiras one of the trendiest bands on the scene.
