«Davy Lyons» in concert at the Es Claustre
Irish singer-songwriter Davy Lyons released his second album, The Human Factor, this February, a collection of songs that swirl and bend and sink into strange chambers of the human heart. With influences many and varied, from Leonard Cohen to Jacques Brel, Billie Holiday to Francis Bacon, Kae Tempest to WB Yeats, Lyons creates lyrical soundscapes, interwoven sonic tapestries that are both unique but also intrinsically linked.
After a spiritual and musical journey through Europe, which led him to make wine at a Tuscan castle and live in “Shakespeare & Company” the mythic bookstore in Paris, he finally decided to settle in Barcelona, where he has lived for seven years, dedicating himself as an artist for whom the essence of existence is to be creative.
His latest album has some of the best jazz musicians from the Ciutat Comtal as part of his band, and in Es Claustre he will be accompanied by Juan Pablo Balcázar, Bogatá’s very gifted double bass player.
