Steppin’ Beyond is the second album by Valencian jazz saxophonist Fran Ramos. In this second release, Fran awakens and is reborn to offer us a fresh album rich in nuances, with a distinctive compositional variety that spans styles ranging from modal jazz to a chacarera, and even afrobeat. Having reconnected with his inner child, while rebuilding these pillars of happiness, the pieces bridge both the jazz tradition and folklore, blending rhythms that form part of his own unique language, setting him apart from the rest. All of this is done without losing sight of modern jazz, with influences such as Keith Jarrett, John Coltrane, and Wayne Shorter, as fans have come to expect.
